A Couple Of Things That You Have To Search For A Good Pau Restaurant
I have just moved to Pau and love it. Even so, as with every new home, there are a couple of things you have to locate and discover as a high priority and a good restaurant in Pau was on top of my list of things to locate.
After you have a roof over your head and comfy bed the next step is to put together a quality of life. In my vocabulary, quality of life is seen by two things; company and food (with a glass of wine of course). I also discover that the two are likely to go together. A good meal is always improved when you are in proper company, just as good company will normally lead to the discovery and experience of many good meals.
Now, how did I initiate my quest for a good restaurant in Pau? Well, I started with the bars. I wanted to determine what type of people lived here. I wanted to understand who were the driving force of the market. I wanted to know if I was in a town of old people who frequented cafes or is a town influenced by live music and social interactions which roared during the early hours. The great, and surprising news, is that I found everything. Literally, for example, the Boulevard des Pyrenees. If you sit outside of any of these bars for an entire day and evening, (which of course I have done) you will notice representatives of every age and rank of the Pau life.
So then I must determine what to try first. A quick chat with the bar man provided me a bit of a feel for the place. He was English and had resided here for 5 years. He was warm and welcoming and informed me everything from the right spots to take a lady on a first date, down to the ideal locations for a hangover cure.
I soon realised that I did not really want to check all the restaurants of Pau alone, therefore I loitered in the bar slightly longer, guessing how I was going to build a social circle. However, while I was wondering, it was being built for me. The bar man finished his turn at 9, and was meeting a couple of pals, before I knew it was were all sitting in a small Italian in the heart of the old town.
These guys are now my good friends in Pau and together we have tried everything from the pubs to the Michelin star restaurants, and this is how I found my way to a great restaurant in Pau. Like what I've said, great company and good restaurants go together.
